As a member of both the British Psychological Society (BPS) and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) I follow strict ethical guidelines. I have obtained a degree in Psychology and trained as a person centred counsellor. While this ensures that I work to a professional standard it does not make me the expert. I will not find all answers for you. I will not tell you how to change your life. In our work together I will offer you the conditions which can lead to therapeutic growth and change, allowing you to become an assertive authority in control of your own life. I will offer a safe space, in which you can explore all your thoughts and feelings without being judged. I will at all times try to see the world from your perspective and explore the meanings that you attach to your experiences. I will always try to be genuine with you and be fully transparent. Therapy does not have to take a long time. I use solution focused brief therapy, which emphasises solutions rather than problems and works with your strengths - allowing you to get stronger all the time and achieve the change you are looking for. |
